MM71 - The Golden Hind was an English ship best known for its global circumnavigation between 1577 and 1580, captained by Sir Francis Drake. Itinerary: Atlantic - Strait of Magellan - Peruvian coast - California-Moluccas - Java - Cape of Good Hope - Plymouth. It was originally known as the Pelican and was renamed in mid-voyage by Drake as he prepared to enter the Straits of Magellan. He rechristened the ship the Golden Hind in a political gesture, to compliment his patron, Sir Christopher Hatton, whose armorial crest was a golden hind. The kit is complete, it does not need additional materials to complete the work. The kit has the shape of the hull fully made from a single piece of wood that does not require planking and specific equipment. The kit has all the material to construct the masts and the structures and various accessories and decorations including the lifeboats, the anchors and the guns made of metal. For the maneuvres, a spool of linen thread is provided. The kit despite the small scale maintains the concept of shipbuilding. The construction is extremely facilitated by the presence of schematic drawings made;in 1/1 scale. The drawings are easy to read for both the experienced modelers and for beginners who approach the static model in the ship building. The model with a remarkable finishing is second to none even compared with larger scale models. Kit to be assembled with glue and painted with colors. Length: 255mm Width: 200mm Scale: 1/110
